The Problem
Spray is an app idea created with the intention to help beach communities build a sense of togetherness. My task was to guide users through account creation in a way that would tailor the app to their specific interests.

My Role
User Experience and UI Design, Wireframes, Visual Design
I worked with a small team to create affinity diagrams that would help us to understand our users. We started by recording ideas the we chose the ideas we liked the best and organized them into categories. Then we worked together to create empathy maps to visualize user needs.

Beyond this point, I worked on the project alone to create the login screens. My goal was to create a welcoming and beach-friendly entry point that engaged the user and appealed to emotion.

High Fidelity Mockups
Lessons Learned
Working off of these ideas and sketches, I produced a set of high fidelity mockups. During the entire design process I learned more about Google's Material Design and implemented a few concepts from it, including use of its color scheme and typography. The importance of having a team to brainstorm with was also reinforced and I think the final design is stronger for it. (Icon graphics from stock images.)
